This was my Windows phone, pocketPC. Lol. Everyone laughed because they called it a "Brick" X years ago, when everyone else had the small flip phones. Now a 'brick' is the common phone to have. lol. But you're right, I made my own ringtones, and did a lot of stuff that other people couldn't do.. plus a full keyboard, which was nice.... Plus it had a stylus in the antenna! Ha!
That's a neat one! Was that available in the US? We have a narrower selection of mobile phones compared to Europe and other countries. I probably would have gotten that if I'd seen it lol. As it happens, BlackBerry Pearl flip was my first official smart phone. I guess that's why I've stayed so long :P

Great views expressed here. I think I will stick with the Passport a little longer

I think I got it in late December of 2005, yes it was available in US, I had Sprint. Then I switched to the Bold, then carriers to AT&T, iPhone 4, then straight talk (AT&T SIM) iPhone 4s, nexus 4 (lost it), iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, (trial run on Passport, trial run on lumia 635)... I liked the passport a lot and currently in the market to pick one up. I also gave away my 635 to a friend in need, so maybe I'll pick up a Lumia 640 when it comes out to play with it. :-P I'd like to see what Windows 10 can bring to the table.

Btw I just switched to cricket to enjoy the $60 10gb plan :-D

They finally have a flagship in production. That'll be the one I'd switch to if any.

Do you mean the slider? Or another phone I'm not yet aware of?

Sorry I meant there is what looks like a decent windows phone coming finally. The Lumia 940 I believe.

I'm glad that you've settled on an OS that works for you. Personally, for me I can't stand WP8.1. I find it fiddly, awkward and confusing and some of the most basic functionality is missing. I tried a Lumia 830 for 2 weeks, I was going to give it 2 months but the thing frustrated the living heck out of me and I gave up. It was such a bad experience that when I came to replace my aging laptop I sought out and bought one that dual boots between 7 and 8.1.

Anyhow, glad it suits yours needs. Different strokes, etc.

There's nothing wrong with Windows phone if it does what you need to do. Nice simple interface. Nokia's Hero Maps which doesn't require a data connection is a nice plus.

You should follow your heart/instincts and that appears to be to go back to your windows phone. This should not be an agonizing, life-changing decision. Good luck in whatever you decide.
    This.

If it works for you, then it works for you.

I got a Nokia Lumia 1020 last year after my Z30 camera underperformed. While I do like its integration with apps, especially social media, the Windows Phone UI is too quirky for reliable everyday business use. This is where the Hub excels.

I agree with most here. Use what best suits your needs. I currently use a Lumia 830, Blackberry Q10 and a Motorola Moto X 1st gen.
Each platform has its pros and cons. Use what others have suggested for the apps you miss, if you still aren't fully satisfied, you can always go back to Windows.

If there were a Windows phone with a full keyboard, I'd probably go back to Windows.
I personally don't like the live tiles, but I think the overall user interface of Windows phones is far more user-friendly than BB10. Add to that better maps, and a better contact management tool, and Windows would be a clear winner.
But Windows doesn't offer any physical QWERTY phones, and BB10 is still a new OS, so I am reasonably hopeful that the BB10 will continue to improve.

Thank you all. Really interesting viewpoints. I think I need to give the device, and platform, a little more time
