Alright all. After a little help.

Just moved to the gta area and was considering getting a WIND SIM. However I was told the phone must support the 1700 / 2100 Networks. My BOLD 9900 was purchased in the UK as SIM Free.

Any ideas how I can verify what frequency the phone supports?

    Cheers

Wind and Mobilicity's networks will not work on your phone. You can use Fido, Bell, Rogers, Telus or Virgin mobile only since your BB doesn't support an AWS signal

Here's what you need to do:

    From Options:
    Go to "About Device Versions"

    in there,
for it to work on Wind, it should say:
    "3G Bands 1,4,8"

Basically Wind operates on UMTS 1700 frequency band (1700MHz links up & 2100MHz links down).
Blackberry devices sold in Europe are sometimes supporting the bands but they are used as a protocol to link 3G WCDMA (far as I know it uses the Rogers network for 2G).
So, you won't be able to use your Blackberry on WIND with fast speed connection, you can use it on other Canadian carriers such as Rogers, Bell and Telus but not on WIND and Mobilicity.

If your a little unsure, bring it in to Wind (or Mobilicity for that matter). They will give you a SIM to test it out for compatibility.

Your phone will work fine on Wind with 3G bands 1, 4 & 8.
