As per the title, anyone have any information regarding if and when Wind will get the Z30. They already have the Note 3 so I'm thinking it might not be too long?

I don't think we've seen anything from Wind Mobile regarding the Z30. Might be a bit early still.

I know quite a few people at WIND and a couple have told me they have tested the Z30 and in all likelihood it will end up being sold by them. As to when that is no-one knows, but the Z10 was launched by WIND about 6 weeks after the Big3 due to restrictions put in place by BlackBerry. If I were to take a guess I would say anywhere from 2-4 weeks after the Canadian launch.

Can't believe the Z10 is still so expensive on Wind. You can get the phones on ebay unlocked for 300 or a bit more through BB themselves.

Would have thought we would see the z10 on tab for $99 by now. Not sure they will want the new phones with potentially lots of Z10's on the shelves.

I want to buy a Z30 from Wind too. They usually have good prices too (at launch, they take a while to lower them).

It would also save me some cash from having to unlock it. I don't mind waiting an extra couple weeks, but if they don't say anything by the official launch date, then I'll have to pick it up somewhere else.

I've been checking their site regularly for my son and I've not seen it at any price other that $599 or $499. They have "lightly loved" units for $349 so I can't see them selling new ones for $190. In fact, people at WIND Have told me many locations have sold out of new Z10s and have opted out of reordering more due to slow overall sales.

Here's a screen shot I just took from their site. As you can see the phone is still for sale for $599/$199. I checked the special offers too and there's no mention of the device. They've changed the way they show the outright price, burying it so you can barely see it, could this have added to the confusion?




P.S. This is taken from their mobile site but the story is the same on their "regular" site, just set up a little differently.

This is their on Tab ($50 plan) price. On the $30 plan its $499, outright $599. Insane pricing really. On Kijiji, new in box in the KW area are in the $250 - $300 range unlocked.

Anyone using the Z30 on WIND? I'm close to buying one. Also, what sorts of speeds do you get from WIND? I here it's HSPA+ and not LTE. No biggy.

Yup. I'm using a Z30 on Wind. It's great.

The data speed on Wind is OK. Under normal circumstances, it's perfectly fine. Not LTE speeds, but more then serviceable.

But under high usage times, or downtown or something. Well, sometimes you'll give up out of frustration.

Overall not bad, but you certainly get what you pay for.

Can you please let me know the z30 model you have? I have a trial z30 STA100-2 and my Windmobile SIM only connects to Wind Away. Wind support said that the z30 is not compatible with their network. Thanks.

That's the only one that can connect to the right frequencies.

I believe that's also the one that can connect to all the Canadian carriers.

I bought mine from Telus and paid to unlock it.

Did you order it with the Telus sim card? I was just wondering if I would need one for updates since wind doesn't have it.

On another note, any news yet when wind will receive the z30?

I couldn't wait anymore. So, I finally ordered a Z30 for $550 through Telus's friends and family program. Hopefully it arrives soon.

No clue, they might not get it at all if they haven't said anything. But they have a good relationship with BlackBerry, so I don't know why they wouldn't.

I didn't order the sim card, because I just install leaks, or can do updates on my own. I never wait for carrier updates.

My z30 is fantastic. Hopefully Wind will be selling them soon. I find this phone much better than my z10 and my son's Nexus 5. The reception and battery life is amazing.

I had my Z10 for 6 months on Wind until last week when the screen broke, a new screen with digitizer is $200. I always had problems connecting with the Z10 even in my own home I have to leave my house and walk up the street. My bill is routinely $50-$60 a month not the $40 a month I was expecting because it can never stay connected leading to texts and calls being placed on Wind away or other carrier networks costing me more money. Today I finally purchased a Z30 sta100-5 from eBay for $600 unlocked and it should arrive in the next few days. I hope the new antenna on the Z30 keeps me connected and will report my results. I will have a better phone and if I save $10-$20 a month and get a better experience not having to pray or walk around trying to find the Wind network I will be happy. P.S I am buying an otterbox case for this one because I am only upgrading out of necessity and am pissed that a new screen on the Z10 is as much as I paid for the phone on a 2 year plan.

Has Wind received the official update yet?
I'm curious as I keep checking for it, but it always states I have the most up to date software...


Will I be able to tell the difference if and when I do get it, since I am set up to automatically update.

I'm lucky and live an area well serviced by wind. I am curious if you tried locking to a tower, using the manual connection?

Does anyone else have issues with wind away when outside of the wind zone using the z30? My z30 only comes up with emergency only and doesn't allow calls outside of the wind zone. I have a suspicion that the z10 actually operates on a different frequency for the wind away that the z30 doesn't support. Z30 has worked on the lte network with Rogers sim card, but of course with the wind sim lte is not in the list of available frequencies with the wind sim installed.
