My son's on WIND and tried to download the update yesterday but both Link and his phone told him there were no updates to be had. He Tweeted @WIND_Cares asking when it could be expected and the response was pretty much "We haven't heard of this update so we can't tell you when it's coming". This is a bit worrying, it took WIND 15 months AFTER every other carrier had released it to release 7.1 for his 9790, by that time I had loaded a leaked version of the OS for him, something he doesn't want to start doing on his Z10. Anyone know when WIND plans to release this update?

No body will know except the carrier. Instead of contacting a twitter account with some one more than likely useless on the other end, call their tech department and find out. Other wise go with the flow and install a leak.

Thanks for the advice but he just won't go with a leak, he refuses. Not too sure what's changed his mind, he used to be all over them on his previous BBs. It's also pointless calling their tech department as you have to call through their regular CSRs first who are compeltely useless and seem bound and determined to hang up on you or simply not answering questions either at all or accurately. WIND are very inconsistent with updates, they were right on the money with 10.1, even releasing it before some of the big guys, he had it before I got 10.1 on Telus, or they simply drag their feet on it releasing so late at times that they might not have even bothered. Anyhow, I'll just tell him to watch his phone.

According to BlackBerry all Canadian carriers received the update for approval and release at the same time. WIND is known for being shaky with OS and device updates, look at LG debacle from 18 months ago, the 15 month delay of 7.1 for the 9790, they were the last carrier in the world to release it for that device by a long shot, releasing it months after it went EOL. I could go on and I've got to admit that they've had their moments where they've come through but more often than not they're late with updates and they always blame it on everyone but themselves.

Just got a reply from someone I know at BlackBerry confirming that the release was made available for "all Canadian branded Z10 and Q10 devices". In other words, WIND received the update the same time as everyone else.
I can't believe there's no update yet. These up dates should available through BlackBerry only since carriers take way too long to release them. Hopefully, BlackBerry makes the appropriate change soon.
Just checked my son's phone and ran an update check and lo-and-behold there's the update! He's away for the weekend sans phone so I ran the update for him. Downloaded the update at 165MB, installed and then it immediately started downloading another up date at 846MB, both had the same version #. Odd, but everything went smoothly.
