This is probably an easy one.....

A friend of mine bought a VZW Motorola Rival on 9/11/09 thru the website, and doesn't like it! Would she be able to exchange it under the 30day guarantee at a local VZW store or would she have to send it back to internet sales exclusively?

Most likely send it back. The corp store wont want to take the hit, if it is possible.

Appreciate the response! She will most likely talk to the store in the AM, but told her not to be surprised if she had to send it back!!

Don't forget the possibility of a $35 restocking fee unless she is VIP they waive it.

That phone looks so nice on the Website - but they left out an important piece in the description: DEVICE NOT AS PICTURED

It is a phone for undiscerning eight-year-olds.

Well you have to realize the company must charge restocking fees because they can't exactly sell it new anymore.
