Easy answer is NO. Verizon requires the $30 for any unlimited data plan with a smartphone. There's rumors there saying verizon is getting rid of the unlimited and going with, 200mb for $15 and 2gb for $25 like the current AT&T plans.

They have pay as you go but smartphones still require the $30 data package.

Since the Curve is a smartphone, the lowest plan for data is 29.99.

Don't think to hard because that plan doesn't exist. It's 29.99 for a BB. There is nothing lower. You can always not get a Blackberry.

Yeah I'm definitely not feeling having to pay $29.99 for my 8330 either. It was outdated when I got it almost 2 years ago, there's no way I use nearly as much data as any of the Droid phones.

So get a phone that sucks the battery dry while its using a lot of data.

I am looking forward to the possibility of tiered data plans. I used to use anywhere between 1.5 and 3.5gb on my old Tour with all the Podcasts I DL thru PodTrapper.

But now that I am on my Bold with WiFi, I average about 200MB to about 350+MB.

I think 200mb at $15 might not be enough based on some months going over that. I would love a tier in the middle of those mentioned.

At that point, I can reduce my plan, get my wife into a BB with the lowest plan, and basically keep my net bill the same.....

I am definitely not looking forward to the tiered data plan. Just this week i used approximately 1 gigabyte of data. I would be hurting considerably if i were stuck on a tiered data plan like att has. I hope verizon never goes that route especially once lte hits, when data will be that much faster/easier to burn through.

I don't want tiered either. I am not always near wifi and don't want to go over.

if you were to use pandora daily for about 4-6 hours, how much data do you think that would take up?
