Dear veteran BB users: I'm getting the 8830 shortly, but can't figure out what's included in these plans!! I was going through the site and picked the $79.99 (450 minutes) plan, which I thought would give me 450 min (duh) and also unlimited e-mail and internet. But then I see an add-on called "BroadbandAccess Connect - 1st Month Free, $15/month thereafter" for, obviously, another $15, so that would be $95 or basically $100 per month. Is that the cheapest/only way to get unlimited e-mail/internet?? Voice is what it is, I'm getting the BB mostly for e-mail/internet, and want to see what my best choice is. Thanks!

Sounds like that plan includes BIS (data access for email), which is "unlimited" Web and email. The $15 Broadband Access Connect is to enable you to tether your BB to your computer for use as a modem. If you don't need that function, you don't need the $15 add on.

Just lose the broadband access option and you'll be good, the BIS plan is the way to go,that 79.99 price tag is a little high huh?,well my friend, that's the price you pay with VZW,that same plan for TMO is 19.99,big difference, the trade off is that VZW has faster data speeds, better voice clarity and nationwide blanket coverage,so you get what you pay for,I switched because of VZW high premiums and I wanted the curve,I can deal with the drop off in carrier but I'm happy and my wallet's even happier.

Not sure where you are getting $19.99 from. I just looked on T-Mobile's Web site and the BIS plan alone is $39 -- $10 more than Verizon Wireless. There's no way they can offer 450 voice minutes, PLUS a BIS pan all for $20.

The 19.99 is for unlimited data plan on top of the 39.99 for the voice plan.

That sounds more like it. I didn't see the $20 BIS add-on, but that doesn't mean it's not there. Isn't $40 for 300 minutes? That means you get 300 minutes and BIS for $60. 600 minutes plus BIS would then be $70.

A bit less expensive that VZW -- good if T-Mobile works for you. T-Mobile does not exist where I live so it's not an option for me.

Tmo has changed that plan, they take away unlimited my faves and in exchange give you 300 more minutes for a total of 600 for 39.99,i heard some of the suscribers that got booted for roaming where from the carolinas, imagine the bill

    Hey Tjorven -
Before I got my BB, I had the 450 minute $39.99 calling plan.
All I did was add the $29.99 unlimited BIS plan for a total of $70.

Don't know if there is anything additional in the $79.99 plan, but if you don't need anything else, you could save an extra $10 a month.

That 79.99 plan is the 39.99 450 plan plus the 44.99 BES option with a discount for combining the 2

You can get BIS only for $30 on top of the 39.99 plan which makes it 69.99

Any plan 1350 or higher for single lines you get BES for $30 or less.

VZW speeds are amazing when compared to Tmo or even ATT since ATT blackberries do not use ATTs highspeed network. The differance is huge... for example a data speed test done on the the phone shows ~2000k with ATT ~220k. Downloading a large file teathered you are looking at around 600-800 sometimes at night i see well into 1Mbit area. This is on an 8703e

The benifits of VZW are obvious and since it costs them 5-6 Billion a year in network investments that means you have to pay more.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR... I had a TMO blackberry and it was a joke.

well do you have verizon service already? if you do I would probably just add $30 package on top of what you got unless you can do better minute package. I have a 1500 anytime minute package for $49.99 and just added the $30 data package on top of it. Didnt want to give up my 1500 minute plan, they only offer those like once every 2 years. I gave one of my high minute cheap plans up once and it took forever for them to offer it again and wont give it up again even if I dont use the minutes

I found this page at Verizon Wireless website. This should be helpful.

    httx://b2b.vzw.com/productsservices/wirelessemail/voicedatacallingplans.html

Be sure to replace "x" with "p" to change to http. I can't put URL since this is my second post.
