    I recently bought my Tour at Costco and I recieved a $50 mail-in rebate with it. Well, I sent it in and after about 2 months I did not receive it. So I contacted the company that Costco uses for their phone rebates and they had no record of me ever sending it in. I also contacted VZW and explained my situation. VZW sent me their rebate information to send in. After i sent that information in to VZW they responded to me telling me that the rebate was invalid. I then email VZW's customer service again explaining the new situation, among emailing Costco itself and the phone rebate company. VZW responded to me today apoligizing about my situation and gave me a $100 credit on my next statement after explaining to me that they are not responsible for Costco's phone rebates because they are a authorized retailer.

    With all the bad rep that VZW gets, I figured I would share something good about their customer service.

    I have never had bad CS from VZW. They are the only company I will deal with now lol.

    That's why I like upgrading online: instant rebate. But the deals at some 3rd party retailers are nice. I'm glad they worked it out for you. I bet it was frustrating.

    I'm glad that early on, I learned the difference between a 'corporate store' and an 'authorized retailer'. Why put another layer between you and your service provider? I've always gotten good deals (and good service) by dealing directly with Verizon.
