I had a i760, that had problems after the wm6.1 update (DATA wouldn't work in certin areas of the country) They replaced it with a xv6800(they got rid of the i760's) The 6800 isn't a acceptable replacement!(IT'S NOT) Audio on it is HORRID(speakerphone, and earpiece/bluetooth)! I can't hear it ring half the time! It dosn't have voice command.....it has another app u have to train ur voice to, and it still dosn't work most of the time! Bluetooth is marginal at best. I would love to have it replaced with a Storm. The xv6800 is actually 170 bucks more expensive with a 2 year($419 with a 2 year) and I've only had it for 2 weeks. Do u think this is possible? Any help?

P.S. The xv6800 was not my choice, just what they replaced the I760 with!

P.P.S. It probablly dosn't matter, but it may. Between my 2 lines, and data card I pay like $250 a month before taxes. My bill is normally between 270, and 300 bucks a month.

Strictly a guess here as to the conversation you had with the vzw rep. You called in explained the problems and you had the phone replaced a few times prior. The issues you had weren't able to be fixed and you stated you didn't want the i760. At that point the rep sent you a 6800 which is the closest phone to the i760 that we have.

    is this accurate?

VZW stoped carrying the I760 do to issues(what the cs told me) And said the only replacement was the 6800.

I doubt you will have much luck with getting the Storm. The Storm is not a WinMo device. They swapped you to the XV6800 because it was the most similar device to the i760.

You could have said no to the XV6800 btw.

Bare in mind that the issues you had with the phone were manufacturer issues. Verizon handles the business of honoring the warranty for the manufacturer, but it's not VZWs warranty. It's done as a courtesy to the customer and there are guidelines about what phones you can and can not get when you are getting something replaced under warranty. The warrranty isn't there to get you the latest and greatest phone, it's there to make sure you have a operable phone. Ideally, you would get the same phone you purchased. In this case that wasn't possible, so they gave you a phone at no cost that has the same features. It's more convenient and faster than dealing with the manufacturer, Samsung, directly.

You most likely won't be able to get the Storm. But maybe (as JRS suggested) you can b*tch to them about getting the XV6850.

You will probably only get a WinMo device, as others have stated. If a rep or customer service does decide to give you a BB, it would be a Curve, not a Storm.

The XV6850 (Touch Pro) is very similar in features to the XV6800...and they already said they don't like the 6800

best bet is to learn to like the one you have. they wont put you into a blackberry. maybe the 6850 if lucky . they put you into that phone because its the most similar to the i760 ... exact same phone.. give or take a couple features
