I guess the guys that follow you around must not be to fond of Miami. I have been on the Verizon network now for about 3 months and the reception is just poor. I also visited Las Vegas last month and I have to say that Sprint's network is much better in both these locations. Is it just me?

I had great service in Florida and Vegas on Verizon anytime I went there. I will admit I was not in Miami lately in Florida with my Storm, but rather Orlando. What OS are you running, as different radio codes give different signal strengths?

Have not hear of any reception problems with .148. After the upgrade, did you *228 opt 1?

I am not sure if it is a Verizon thing or a phone thing but it makes me want to change carriers.

Verizon really does have one of the larger and more stable networks. If you thinking of switching you may want to test drive a phone within that area with a different carrier first. I generally have better signal than other users with different carriers, given different circumstances of course. But, each area and person have different needs. Hope you can find what best suits yours.

Verizon may in the odd place have poor signal compared to another carrier. Generally speaking they crush the competition especially in 3G coverage.

I'd have to say phone issue - I am frequently in both Vegas & Miami (armpits, both) & have strong signals throughout.

Too many people are quick to blame the carrier without first considering the phone.

I had problems in certain areas when I had my previous phone, LG V860, I think. But since switching to BB I get MUCH better reception. All over.

I was just in Vegas, and had GREAT reception with my Storm.
Was using v122 at the time (bell release). Currently on 148VZW release.
Sounds like there's something wrong with ur phone. Did you do a x228 Op 2 update?
I usually do that when I travel to an area I haven't been with my phone in a while.

Sounds like phone issue, I just got back from Vegas and had perfect coverage on my storm using .148. (Now driving to and from through the fields/hoover dam was spotty)

I am at Lake Pleasant in Peoria & have perfect coverage - as long as I don't drop the phone off the side of the boat.

I've been to Vegas 3 times with 3 different VZW phones and have had excellent reception. The only carrier that Sprint is better than out there is T-mobile. Everybody that had T-mobile complained about the service.

florida is hit or miss. the bodies of water tend to interfere with signal and network capabilities.

from the mouth of VZW techs when i worked at VZW.

Let's see here. Latino & Arabic heritage. Spent most of my life living @ or south of this longitude. I spend a lot of time in Guyana & Ghana & am darker that the average white guy. I don't like the cold & the temp is of no concern to me until the mercury passes 110. I keep my house A/C at 80. Today was 94 and I spent much of it in the water or piloting the boat. Sunburn? What is sunburn?

Do you really think I am nuts or are you just not yet adapted to the desert?

That it is - and longtime readers may remember that weekendbum recently moved to the Phoenix area from the Seattle area.

From rain & clouds to eternal sun & warmth.

Don't get me wrong - I love Seattle, especially when the announcement is made: Flight _____ to Phoenix now departing @ Gate 7.

I have to agree with you on the climate thing. I grew up in Los Angeles and when I moved to Orlando it took me about 3 years to get used to the cold here. In Decemeber 95 it was dropping to mid 40's and I was walking around in a t-shirt and shorts. Nowadays, I am reaching for a parka to keep warm. And as for Vegas - never a problem with VZW. My best friend goes often and I can bug him inside all the casinos.

I have occasionally had problems with my phone in Vegas but never in Miami. The Vegas thing has been for at least 10 years. A friend of mine that lives there has Sprint...he says it works better there?
