Effective 4/1/2009, VZW is now charging $5 for a bill reprints, done though CS reps. The reason for this is that VZW is really pushing for self help options. With this in mind, you can logon to your VZW account online or call the automated service (611) and order reprints for free.

This is a public service announcment

    Nickle & diming again, huh?

What did we get charged for your announcement?

See, you said NOTHING about it being a free announcement.

Now, that being said - silliness aside, is there an override for it?

If I call & order $600 worth of merchandise, then have a quick request for a reprint of the January bill, will I get dinged for the $5 or be forced to go through the charade of jumping online to save that %5?

If the systems are down, will I be charged for calling you?

I ask this because the local CATV provider & one of the local electric utilities have little surcharges for things such as bill reprints and/or making payments to a CSR. The CATV provider (Cox) doesn't care & will ding you just for asking. The electric utility (SRP) waives the fee for the elderly or those who have problems with the online site.

It costs several dollars/min to provide live telephone service - so anyone who comes around slamming VZW for this hasn't paid attention to what is going around in the business world. After all, with some accounts, Bank of America will charge you for using a live teller in their branches and has done this for years. What I can see happening is that some people may work against you on this.

    • Jan: Hey, I can't remember my online password to see my bill. Can I get it reset?
    • Feb: Hey, I can't remember my online password to see my bill. Can I get it reset?
    • Mar: Hey, I can't remember my online password to see my bill. Can I get it reset?
    • Apr: Hey, I can't remember my online password to see my bill. Can I get it reset?
    • May: Hey, I can't remember my online password to see my bill. Can I get it reset?

The more industrious out there might go a step further just to stick it to the evil empire of Verizon and call in multiple times per week.

The call time is probably lower with a simple bill reprint than it is for a password reset, although it may also come with some billing questions.

I have a better idea gang - you need a bill reprint? Don't ask for one. Order it online AFTER you have a VZW rep EXPLAIN it line by line...

I am sorry, LR - while I can see the whys or it happening and the competitive pressures which allow it, VZW is supposed to be about better customer service. Leave the service charges to AT&T and Sprint.

Lol. Maybe that way people will stop asking for bill reprints. I think that's good. And why do you want them to send you one when you can get it online. It's so much easier and FAST ! Instead of waiting for it to get to you.
And plus why waste more paper ?!

If you call in for other issues, the rep will refer to the recording and offer to xfer to this recording. If you forget your password for the website that much, better have those docs you are seeing do a brain check

Bottom line yes if we do the print for you, you will charged the $5, no charge for asking.

Also if you are online you can see the bill just we can, we can review the bill with you right then and there

While you verified much of what I said with your post, the quote above tells me you missed my point - that some will do it out of spite.

But is $5 worth anything anymore?

Given the leftward lurch King Hussein of America is leading us, it won't even buy a BigMac before long.

We get paid by the hour not the call so I'll spend all day walking you through logging in. We can disassemble your computer, clean it out, reinstall windows, change your isp. I have all day.

When do you work? I'll give your number to everyone I know who calls me for computer help instead of battling Dell & HP.

There is an option buried deep within MyVerizon to get one. But, probably like you, I figure why bother?

Nope, ABQ or Rio Rancho are cool with me. We have a pretty good Buffet at the local casino.

So do I. The number one complaint about our stores is that they are busy all the time and there are always long wait times. The reason there are long wait times is because we get issues like bill reprints, phone book transfers, esn changes, etc, that people don't have to come in to the store for.

The funny thing is, the more people complain about how busy the stores are, the more they insist on standing in the lines instead taking an easier way out.
