If Verizon is offering it $299 on contract, that puts it in the same price category as the Note 3. Which isn't $550. It is $700.

$299.00 on contract is a phenomenal price. I expect there will probably be at least 10 million sold in the first week. This will put blackberry back on the map.

Read the thread, people. The OP does NOT think it's going to be $299 on contract.

Yeah but the Verizon shot says a different story. Plus a few other sites are saying $299 on a 2 year contract. Verizon does mark up there prices.

BlackBerry is absolutely nuts if they attempt to get more than 199 on contract for this phone. If you ask me, they should be blowing this phone out at 99 dollars since it's coming with last years specs and the OS has failed to grab the attention of buyers.

Hopefully so, then it would really be competitive on Verizon.

BlackBerry prices the initial cost of the device. the carrier then decides on the "hit" they are willing to take. So if BB prices the phone at a reasonable MSRP, the carrier could then price it lower. So while BB is not really responsible for the 299 or 199 price tag, it really IS in the long run.
MSRP SHOULD be $75-150 less than Galaxy S4. at the end, it doesnt offer the same USER experience to the average joe. i'm not talking BB fans or S4 fans.. just generally speaking..

Look how one device is different prices at different retailers. The Z30 could retail $650 at Verizon but be $700 at best buy then $620 at Amazon. The retailer selling the phone wants some money too.

You're right about the MSRP, except carriers buy the phones in the 550-650ish number ranges, they just sell them on contract for 299/199/whatever. But let me ask you this: what if a carrier decides to get greedy? Afterall the S does stand for suggested. I could see "specialty" carriers like Verizon/Sprint, hell even T-Mobile (because of WiFi calling, at least on Android) getting greedy, because the options available to purchase devices elsewhere are limited (especially for T-Mobile Android. If you want WiFi calling, you have to buy from TMO.)

The person you replied to is in part responsible for that October 31 date lol

I doubt it is a exclusive. Maybe on a color front.

Well just discovered it is not a exclusive in the true since of the word. It is just Verizon is 1st, not a exclusive. The other carriers have to let BlackBerry know.

Thanks for posting. While this clears up the exclusivity issue, it paints a really bad picture overall, if AT&T and Verizon T-Mobile aren't ready to pick it up AND Sprint is now reneging.

Just call Verizon Customer Service. They are allowed to talk about it now. It will be available November 14th. $199 with 2 year contract and $549 full retail. Go ahead dial *611 right now. They will even give you accessory prices.
