I literally just bought the storm exactly a week ago today and it turns out that the BB tour (I think thats its name?) came out this week. I really never liked the storm but I got it because I had the old curve and it was getting old plus the storm has the newer OS on it. My question is this. Is there any way possible that I can give back my storm and pay some money in order to get the tour? I really don't like the storm at all and I would be much happier with a non touch screen phone. Thanks!

If you got it through VZW or an authorized dealer, just take it back. Easy stuff.

So I can take the storm to the Verizon store, give them the storm, and they will give me the tour for $35? What a deal!

Well you will need to pay the difference of the Storm and Tour... Then the $35 restocking fee.. but it will be well worth it.

Oh okay. About how much do you think that will be? I looked it up online and the tour is $489 without the contract and the storm is $499. So If you add it up, I will be paying only $35 for the stocking fee. Am I correct or do I have the wrong prices for the phones?

Ok this is ridicoulus, go back to the store and they will tell you how much, depending on what you paid for the storm any where from 50-150 dollars, did you get a rebate on the storm did you mail it out?

LOL then dont bother returning it, at least not for anything but another storm. Once you cut the label off the box they cant restock it, had you not done that you would have been good to go

They can but if you have sent out your rebate you might have to pay some additional b.s. I would just go to the store asap and ask what they can do for you.

except its not defective and if that was the problem they would replace it with a storm

Because when you cut the barcode off the box and mail in for your rebate, they can not resell that device they have to use it as a fru, and being it was only a week ago, why didnt you wait to mail in your rebate?

i work at a store this is how it works if your within 30 days you can exchange it and just pay the difference the tour is 269.99 the storm was probally 219.99. There will be a 35.00 restock fee. Since you mailed in for the rebate they will charge you for the rebate 70.00
    so
    credit 219.99
    plus 35.00
    plus 70.00
    plus 269.99

it can be done no problem

if you had ne2 that will be reapplied to the tour cost

So heres the deal. I walked into the Verizon store and told the rep how I wanted the tour instead of the storm. He charged me $30 for the exchange and another $50 for the difference. Now I have the tour an not the crappy storm. Thanks for the help guys.

Yeah its funny how the best thing to do in the end was just go into the store and see what the rep says...
