Hi, Does Verizon lock GPS for 3rd party apps like Google latitude etc. on Curve 9330?
I wasted more than an hour on the phone with Verizon reps but they wouldn't give a straight answer.

I would really appreciate if any Verizon 9330 curve owners out there could let me know if 3rd party GPS apps can be used on this device.

Since the 9530-Storm 1 release, Verizon does not block 3rd party apps from polling GPS. They've pretty much stopped locking it down on any of their smartphones for the past couple of years.

I don't think Verizon locks down the GPS, but certain apps don't seem to be able to get an accurate reading from the 9330's built-in GPS. For example, Facebook and Twitter (Beta) only appear to use Tower Triangulation. Both of these apps were able to access the GPS on the 8530 on Verizon Wireless.
