    Apparently Verizon updated the software for the Network Extender yesterday.

    I learned about it when no calls were able to be made or received to or from my cell phones in the 914 area.

    Phones showed full coverage but no calls could be made to any number including 611 and 911.

    This outage lasted several hours and apparently was scheduled by Verizon. Customer service mentioned the Network Extender issue as an after thought. When I disconnected it I did have service albeit poor coverage.

    No previous notice was given that this would occur. It created a potentially dangerous situation. Notification should be sent to customers via text or email.
