I currently have the grandfathered unlimited data plan and an android phone. I am ready to come back to Blackberry and wondered if anyone has experience using the q10 or z10 with the unlimited data plan. Right now I can activate my phones hotspot function for free using the foxfi app. Is it possible to to turn the hotspot feature of the q10 or z10 on without incurring the additional 20/month fee?

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

That would be a question better answered by your carrier.

I too have the grandfathered unlimited data with VZW and am using a z10. As far as I was told by VZW activating the hot spot incurs the monthly charge AND a data limit for hot spot use only.

You need to pay $30 per month for unlimited hot spot.

There is an escreen workaround in the forums to avoid paying. If they catch you don't be surprised if they take off unlimited data for you since you broke the terms.
