I had literally 5 calls today where the customer wanted to activate their replacement phone while talking on the defective one and when i told them that we cannot do this they dont understand.....and you have to slowly walk them through how if you were to do this then we wouldnt be able to walk through activation because we would be disconnected .and silly company drills in our head that we want both phones off to make sure it goes through the switch smoothly.

speaking of which, customer came into the store, needed to use the bathroom. Informed we did not have a public restroom. after a minute of arguing, she left. a minute later she is back with her husband, who asked if she could use the bathroom. We told him that we just told her we dont have a public restroom. "I am a customer of Verizon. I am not the public!" After 10 min he finally leaves and calls customer service. They end up calling the store asking why we wouldnt let his wife use the bathroom, and ended up crediting his account $50.
So I know this is a late reply, but for anyone who doesn't know... It is illegal for a customer to use a restroom that does not live up to the "public use" federal regulations, which 99.9% of Verizon Wireless employee-only bathrooms (which are in the employee-only area) are not compliant to. They are only compliant to private use laws. So Verizon (and any company without public restrooms, for that matter) can get fined a significant amount of money if the government finds out. We have a store nearby that DOES have public restrooms, so I just send customers there, but they still ask. And that's exactly what I tell them. Because you know what? I let them in there and we get fined because they're actually a government rep testing us and I get fired. Not cool. And no pee-pee dance is worth me loosing my job.

I love it when customers come into the store and ask us to make change first thing in the morning as soon as we open, these are generally the ones that have a hundred dollar bill and don't want to pay $40 over their bill, which is understandable, but my badge doesn't say BOA. whew, sorry am done now lol.

interestingly we've actually been told that we're required to let them have access to the restroom now, regardless of the fact that it's behind locked doors, we have to escort them back to the facilities so that they can take care of their needs while walking away from customers that're upset because they've been waiting in line for however long to talk to a rep and get their business taken care of.

This guy came in yesterday with a Motorola 755. He had to wait for a while and I could tell he was pissed off. I had the honor of helping him. He asked me how much a battery for it would cost and I told him. He then asked me to tell him how much he payed for his service.................................I knew where this was going.

I asked him to come with me and I agreed to
"tell him how much he was paying every month". He had a whopping two lines of service. So I explained the phone was out of warranty, and he asked me when his contract end date was. He asked me again how much he paid for his service last month, and I said, "Sir, there's not going to be any argument over this, the phone is out of warranty and it will be 39.99". He said "Git me the battery, and then I'm canceling my service because of YOU".

Got the battery and brought it back, installed it for him, asked if he would like to pay now or have his phone bill charged, charged the account, handed the phone back, and he looked at me, shook his phone at me and said, "This is why Verizon is so cocky, and this is why the competition is catching up with you". So VZW is cocky for not throwing a battery at him.

    See ya......

not to be mean but, if that's exactly how it went down, it sounds like you're at the store that's across town from me that we constantly get customers coming in complaining because the "reps there are all rude a$$holes". There's ways to make the point without pissing the customer off....and if they're out of warranty and have insurance, offer the option of a claim so that for the same $40 they're getting a whole "new" phone instead of just a battery and don't let em feel like they're being screwed by the company they're signed up with.

And what if asurion send him a phone without a battery and back(with the 755 being older Im sure that could have happened) and now you have had a person pay a non refundable fee for a problem that wasnt fixed.

Also, who says he had insurance, if his bill is 39.99, odds are he did not.

W755 isn't end of life or discontinued, even if it's older, it's still active and plentiful in inventory, and asurion sends full phones, as they're insurance replacements, you wouldn't ship someone a phone without a battery or back in case either of those are damaged, the only reason the warranty replacements are that way is because you're saying there's no damage to the phone, which, if there is, you shouldn't be replacing under warranty.

Also, Wireless Vet didn't say the bill was 39.99, it's what the battery was going to cost. Wireless Vet never said what the plan was, just that he wasn't going to argue the matter, with 2 lines, it's not a 39.99 plan.

Well I'm not in the store you're thinking of, and not even in the same state for that matter.

I've got a great NPS score, I'm willing to do anything to help anyone out when displaying a civil attitude. The guy came in looking for a fight, wanting a free hand out. As the shop owner said in the David Lee Roth video for the song Yankee Rose, "Not in my store you don't".

Right, thank you. I figured everyone would get what he was trying to accomplish but since they didn't I"ll spell it out........his point was "I pay X amount for my plan every month and that makes me ENTITLED to a new battery for free".

i just did sonething stupid that was pretty funny. I was trying to get a guys bb to sync with BB DTM. After like 30 min of troubleshooting to no avail, I trasfered him to BB support. The FIRST thing he said when he got the cust on the line was, "Is synconize organizer data checked?" Nope, I had spent a half hour troubleshooting because I forgot that damn box... Dont EVER forget that box....

I know it is not something a cust did but I thought it would give some people on here a few cuckles at my expence.

    oooo, military.

I have a couple of good ones there.

First, I was in Hawaii, so I didn't buy a car. I was a network admin, and my office got called for PC problems. Had a long term enlisted man call me screaming that his monitor wasn't working and to bring him a new one. He simply refused to let me troubleshoot over the phone. So, I log those heavy CRT monitor 3 and a half miles, walking, to his office. Get there. Look at his current monitor, turn the brightness up and it's working again. When he asked me what I did (he wasn't in there when I did that) I showed him. For some reason, this made him very mad. He made me do pull ups with him. Then I had to walk the CRT monitor back. Another 3 and a half miles. I wasn't the happiest guy in the world.
