    Yes. When i called (a year ago, lol) i had to tell them what i thought it could be. Then they found where to turn it off!

    My wife was having the same problem.I updated her OS to .167 for the storm,as soon as I did that they stopped.I tried calling my carrier and they were no help.She was getting around 30 of the brew messages a day and she was going nuts.Like I said as soon as the update was complete they stopped.

    I Spent well over 4 hours today on the phone with Virizon Customer Support and Techs. When ever I get a new voicemail on my Blackberry Storm I recieve a text message-
    from 900080002021
    // BREW:0x0106185d:005N16f4922f45568161a8cdf4ad2299f6 d23008VZWCVSN200

    I have backed up the phone dumped it and still receive them. I do not have any subscriptions free or otherwise on the account. However, there is a .10 charge for this text message every time that i receive it. I am at a complete loss for what to do now. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you

    I am pretty sure that its not possible to disable the text that comes whenever you get a new voice mail. Its annoying thats for sure i wish there was a way to disable it

    The text from BREW isn't the normal one for a Voice Mail. You need to have customer service turn off whatever alert is still active from your dumb phone.

    i still actually get BREW alerts for alerts i set up for new ring back tones. i can't seem to get rid of them. Fortunately, it's not many. If i could hook my dumb phone up! i'd be able to go disable them. That's an option for you.

    Otherwise Customer Service needs to find where the alert is coming from and turn it off for you.

    Have customer service to add a Brew Block to the account. That will cancel any subscriptions out there and is the quick fix to this problem.

    In the future, all you have to do now is reply stop, they should stop.

    Did you have Mobile Email on the nonSmartPhone?
    This happens often when you go from having a regular device with mobile email to a smartphone.
    Because mobile email uses BREW to push your email this is why you get this message.
    If you cant get it to stop... contact verizon and there is a tool that internal tech has that will fix the issue.
    Please forgive me if this info was already relayed to you...
