    Ok, here it goes...

Will Verizon charge me for texts I receive while overseas if my firewall is set to block them? I sign up to CNN notifications as well as breaking news notifications with my local news. I was in Canada recently and I would get at least 5 to 10 a day just from this source, which is fine in the states but not when I'm roaming on Rogers! And its time consuming to have to opt out of SMS services from these sites every time I want to travel overseas!

So the bottom line, do you get billed for firewall blocked SMS? And if so, whats the simplest way to keep from getting charged for notification type SMS while overseas?

Yes you get charged. You would need to have verizon block all messaging.

thats what I thought. I guess I'll opt for e-mail updates verses SMS. The good thing was that I stated at the hilton in Ontario and surprisingly enough, I still had the verizon network from my hotel room and around the falls which was great.

Bad thing was that once I got to Toronto, all bets were off
