I got a scoop on the details about the new VZW Netbooks that are supposed to come out around the 15-18th of May. The PC is an HP Mini 1151NR running Windows XP. Price $199 after $50 Mail-in-Rebate!

There is no info about a required contract, but there would be one most likely, and the data plan would probably be one of the already existing ones ($39 or $59). Update: 2-year Contract

    Model: HP Mini 1151NR
    Screen Size: 10.1 in
    Processor: Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz
    Hard Drive: 80GB
    Memory: 1 GB
No internal CD/DVD drive. Accessory Available
    Peripherals: 2 USB, 1 Mic-combo, and 2-in-1 Card Reader
    SIM-Card and Bluetooth Capable
    Webcam and Mic
    Global Access
    Adobe Reader and Flash Player

Got 3 pics with the description posted above, but the sender asked me not to post them, sorry

    VZW Netbook Details

    --------------------------------
I got this information late yesterday.

Got a word from a quicky-genius (contributor to the site) that VZW would be coming out with a netbook mid-May, probably late next week. A move already done by AT&T. There is no word on pricing yet.

    Rumor: VZW Netbook Mid-May

Is the netbook your speaking of supposed to be verizon brand? I know of a few verizon stores that now offer acer netbooks. They are actually pretty neat. :-)..

Net books are the greatest thing out in a while. As long as you do not bog it down with nonsense
They are so fast and so lite.

More rumors say that not too long after HP netbooks come out the 'high level talks' between Verizon and Apple will show its true basis in some Mac netbooks.

Hope. Rumors peg it as a Table device, not a NetBook. I don't know and Santa isn't talking.

Interesting. An alternative to the Hub or a basic web/email option?

We know that. We were talking about the Apple talks and what that may bring after the first round of netbooks.

What will make this any more special that the little Acer I saw at Staples today? I am seriously considering getting one, I would be able to instantly download and proof images to my clients.

I'd be better off spending $300 for one at Staples and tethering my storm to it like I do my laptop.
