I've got a trip out of the U.S. where I have my plan to Vancouver. Am I covered there via Verizon, or am I going to get slammed with voice and data roaming charges? If so any advice on using the 8830's World Edition capabilities?

You will be charged roaming but you don't have to have the sim card and the international roaming set up for Canada or Mexico. All your calls and data uasage are billable though. Sorry

Get the International plan, it cost $3.99 per month. Then it will only cost $0.10 per minute.
BTW, you can cancel the International plan after you return from your trip.

That is to call from the United States, not while in Canada.

Sounds like it to me also. Which is why adding the $3.99 feature will not work.

Well I'm glad I checked back. So, looks like I'll be keeping the BB off while I'm in Canada.

I just dug out my bill. I'm in Seattle but went skiing up THERE in Feb.

Phone/voice is billed at $00.69 per minute. My TWO MINUTE call was $1.38.

Data was something like two cents per kilobyte????? I can't get to the Verizon site at the moment. But I did call them and they gave me the precise charges.

I did sent/receive a few emails but don't see any huge charges.

    Edited to add:

I see this on the Canada Page noted above using the email tab:

    Pay Per Use Plan: $0.002/KB

Which is NOT two cents but less although at this hour I'm having trouble coming up with the fractional decimal value. (G)
