    Below is a pointless rant- feel free not to read if you don't want to comiserate with me......

    So I got a call just now (or should I say 45 min ago) from a customer who called in and got a rep here earlier tonight. The customer wanted to upgrade to 5.0 for his storm and the rep he talked to just told him what site to go to and gave him really bad instructions on how to do the upgrade. So the customer isnt the brightest crayon in the box and ended up putting the software for a curve onto his storm and I've been trying to clean up the mess for about an hour now. Not cool... not cool at all.... Do people even know how to do their job at all here?? The last rep didn't even notate the account about why the customer called in in the first place, let alone the crappy instructions he left the guy with. You may call me a "snitch", but you best believe that my sup got an email about this call and "Frank" will be getting some major coaching tomorrow.....

    I've called in many times & had reps clueless of the previous issue - they didn't read the notes. I've had others lie in the notes - too bad for them I call any CS from my regular lines & the calls are recorded. Now I don't mean full on lies - they simply put in something like "called about rates" when I called with a much larger issue that they were unwilling to assist with.

    VZW CS is no different than CS for other companies - as Clark Howard likes to call it, Customer noService.

    As I've said before - and this is NOT a poke at any individuals - cell phone customer service reeks & VZW is really no better than any other carrier. They are just more willing to buy you off.

    By the way - the Planet Feedback thing doesn't work, either. Anyone touting that is leading people on a customer service nightmare - you're much better off using the Contact Us link on the VZW site.

    But still - VZW is not known in calling center circles as breeding good customer service people. Rather, they are good at training robots to use cheesy call-sequencing. Call-sequencing sounds good in focus groups, but really infuriates many customers. They start it on me & I give one warning to stop it, else I will demand an escalation. From that point, if they comply, their words no longer have a condescending tone & I can get my issue resolved.
