How many days do I have to cancel my contract to avoid any ETF without having to port a number?

Most companies its either 15 or 30 days. If your past that point then you have to pay the ETF...........You are still able to port your number either way though.

ETFs mean nothing to me. I've talked my way out of six of them this year from three different companies.

Basically, you just have to be persistent and look for loopholes.

Sprint, I used the service fee increase loophole,
ATT, I exposed (and had documented) a hole in their coverage area which was counter to what their on-line map showed
Verizon, I used the myriad problems with the Storm to leverage my way to waiving the ETF.

It's easy, really, you just have to remain calm, spend the time finding where the loophole is for your particular situation, and then calmly and repeatedly ask for it.

So you've gotten out of Sprint, ATT and VZW. So does that mean you are on TMO now??

Yes, and VZW still (Storm has dual NAMs) But I respected TMO too much to work their system.
