I have a world edition BB I was womdering what options are available to me so I can use my phone in europe with a sim card from a local cell phone provider in that country. Verizon prices are expensive.

You need to call Verizon Global Support and get the SIM slot unlocked. Visit the 8830 forum and look for the sticky thread on what you need to do.

JRSCCivic98 is right just tell verizon that you are traveling abroad and you need the phone unlocked and they should give you the code and it might take up to 3-4 days.

Yes, but just remember that only your phone will work, no data. If you want data and phone, you'll need to use the Verizon SIM and plan.

thats good to know All i wanted was the phone usage. By the way what if I switch between cards how do you think that will work. Use the local card for calls and every once in a while I use vz card for data
