I bought an 8130 from a private seller and I was told that the phone could not be activated because it was still under contract. Is this possible? I would think that if I were to want to add service on the phone I should be able to do that right?

Not a noob to BB's just never dealt with Verizon before.

Service can be cancelled at anytime...if he cancels his account early though, he may be responsible for paying some kind of early termination fee. His problem not yours...he should have thought of that before putting the phone up for sale.

That was kinda what I was thinking, not my problem if he terminated early and didn't close the account.
Thanks, I will go talk to my local VZN rep and see what I can do with it.

Verizon shouldn't have an issue if you want to add service to a phone and start paying them for it lol
