I got prompted today that a new version of Verizon's Visual Voicemail was available for my Blackberry Storm 9530. Anyone else see this? Version is now 1.9.16 instead of 1.9.6.

When I downloaded it, it froze up and wouldn't let me answer or delete emails. The screen became small. So I took it to the Verizon store and they did something with tech support and fixed it

Should be .16 I have installed this on a couple of storms over the last couple days. Installs went well and performed well.

Software releases are supposed to be read with each number independent of each other... so 4.0.9 is "four point zero point nine" and 4.0.12 is "four point zero point twelve", with 4.0.12 being newer. If it were like math that second decimal point might raise some questions

This is confusing. I refreshed my apps update list and it now shows I have an visual voicemail upgrade available (1.19.16). But I am currently using 1.19.6.

I'm trying to figure out if this is really an upgrade or not before I download it, but meanwhile everytime I click my visual voicemail tab I now get a pop-up asking me if I want to upgrade my visual voicemail.

So is this 1.19.16 upgrade really an upgrade to 1.19.6?

Only way I can see this would really be an upgrade with this numbering is if the upgrade number is supposed to 1.19.160 and the last digit '0' is not showing up, like the Verizon system drops the last digit 0 or something.

This is very confusing, at least to me.

Hey, my first post! Been lurking for a while though. Great site!

Thanks for any incite anyone can provide on whether this 1.19.16 is really an upgrade to 1.19.6.

    Thanks!

Loaded the 1.19.16. No issues, at least not yet.

I went back and reread what Cedar was saying about numbering scheme, that .16 is more recent than .6 now. I get it now.

I wasn't following it right before.
