Thanks for the update Whoolio. . .

I'm on VZW ... after I update prl (*228 option 2), how do I check to see if it updated properly to 51831?

    Thanks

To check your PRL dial: #4357* and push DIAL/SEND

When I updated the 8330 I had, it went to 51831, but my new 8530 only went to 51827! What gives?

Someone please educate me on this PRL stuff. Just checked and mine reads 0. What does "updating" my PRL do, and are there any down sides by forcing the device to do this?

So my new phone doesn't get nearly as good service being on 27 as my old one on 31. Is there any way to get it to update to 31? Is that something verizon cs could do?

besides i used to work for an indirect verizon wireless kiosk and it is recommended you do *228 at least once a month to update your phone to the towers.

I upgraded my os last night to the .601 leak, and my signal issues are fixed! Guess it was the os!

If this is so recommended and such a big deal, how come most people don't know about it? And why don't the phones just update this data on their own?
