Well I was first glad to hear that Verizon would be using new data plans but now I just need some clarification.
Can anyone tell me what is the difference between Email and Web for BlackBerry and Blackberry Solution™ Unlimited Data Usage other than the $15 difference. Basically, is one a BIS plan and one a BES plan?
Does Blackberry Solution™ Unlimited Data Usage infer that Email and Web for BlackBerry is not limited?
Does the difference between these plans affect any map apps?

Yea man, I actually just saw your post and called Verizon to find out. It is now 29.99 for unlimited internet and email! This is for the non enterprise person using the data for personal use. Thanks for the update on this, you saved me a good $15 a month!

I am still confused about this. I have posted three different posts on three different threads regarding this.

I just got off the phone with my VZW CSR and was told that there was NO unlimited email and internet Blackberry plan under $30.

I was told that the only plan available under $30 only offered 10MB of memory.

Do I need to call back?

Yes, you need to call back.
It took me 45 minutes on Wednesday, 2 reps and one guy in tech support to finally find the 29.99 unlimited data plan.
The two reps that I first spoke to were insistent that my only options were the 24.99 10mb plan and the 44.99 unlimited plan.
By the end of the call, the reps could not apologize to me enough, stating that they really thought I was trying to "get one over" on them and blamed Verizon for the lack of training. They said it would be nice if they were told about it before the public was.

There is a thread somewhere on this site that references a code for the plan, but I can not find it.
My brother in law was able to add the new data plan before I was, and I asked them to bring up his account (by giving them his phone number). After they looked at his account, there was silence on the phone for a good 10 seconds and you heard their tech person just say "Huh.. Look at that.."

If it helps, you can tell them to walk through doing a purchase online.
Tell them to choose a Blackberry device first (must pick the phone first, not the plan). Tell them to then add a basic calling plan.. Then on the next screen where it says you must choose a data plan, you will then see the 29.99 plan.

if verizon reps are telling you there is no 29.99 blackberry plan with unlimited data and e-mail they are not yet informed of the changes. THIS IS A NEW PLAN FOR VERIZON AND REPLACES THE 24.99 10 MB PLAN....

Many verizon reps dont know about it yet...keep trying if you must... its doubtful you will get the same csr. if they dont know what you are talking about ask to speak to a supervisor...

tell the rep to look up code 76318

there must be ten threads on this already...

I just called and spoke with a Verizon CSR and she told me that the $29.99 data plan was just a special being ran for the release of the Pearl and that the price would be going back up to 44.95 after a short period of time. Has anyone else heard this?

I just got my Pearl today and had to switch to the Nation wide family choice plan and I got it for 29.99 a month! They did not say that it was a promo. So I think its going to be a price to stay.

The 2 plans are there to stay, one allows BES server acess for the corporate clients, and the other is the $29.99 plan which allows BIS access (cant link up to a BES server with it).

Following up on a previous post, I just called and spoke to another CSR and he said nothing about the plan being a special. However this was the first time he had heard anything about the $29.99 plan. So who knows, let's hope its not a special and going to be going back up.

When I called the CSR told me the 29.99 plan was not "broadband access" and the browser may run slower, anyone have any experience with this?

The $44.99 data plan gives you access to the BES.
The $29.99 data plan gives you access to the BIS.

    $44.99= corporate users, $29.99=personal users

blackberryhead is correct. The plans are not a special, they are not going away. They run on the same data network as the corporate plans so NO it will not be slower.

It IS broadband, but the broadband access connect (tethering/using it as a modem for your notebook/pc) is not only $15 more with this plan. It is $30 more bringing it to $59.99 same bundled price as before.

Only difference is that you will not be able to connect to an enterprise server if you have one at your office.

OK. I just finished talking to my Verizon account rep. If you are on a $29.99 BIS package and you decide to add a tethering feature then it must be $30. The total must equal to $59.99. Just like an aircard. If you are on the BES for $44.99, then your tethering feature is only $15. Guess some of us got lucky.

Man, they get you, one way, or another.

My CSR couldn't find the code...so, here it is - 73618!

Mention that code and it will pull up the correct plan.

I went in to the Verizonwireless store today and talked to the Rep. He said that the tethering is $15 and he switched me to the $29.99. The only difference according to him is that BES thing (which I don't use).

i assure you if they are doing their job correctly, the tether is now 30.00 if you have the 29.99 plan, if you are still on the old plan the tether option is still the 15.00 you stated

Yeah I was very pleased to hear about this new data plan when I got my phone. After looking on the internet and emailing the reps from the site the only plans I knew of were the 24.99 and the 44.99 what a pleasant suprise. Thanks verizon (now fix version 4.2) haha.

I called today to update my data plan and was told by the rep that I can only get the $ 24 or the $44. I even told him that they also have the $30. He said that I could not get get that one cause I had a National plan and that it would be best to open another account just for my BB. So i hang up and call again and got another rep who did not know of the $30 until he started looking at his books. He told me that i would no longer have my @vzw.blackberry.net account if I go with the $30. I still get email even though he said I would no longer have access to it. Do you really lose your @vzw.blackberry.net if you go for the $30 ?
