I have searched for the answer to my question on the these forums as well as the net and have found no answer, but first let me say that I just received my new Verizon Wireless Network Extender and it works really well. I have 5 bars on my Storm, an improvement from 2-3 bars max.

The question I have is; what the heck is the HDMI connection for? Yes im sure that it is an HDMI port, I even plugged one in just to be 100% sure. Any ideas? I dont think that there are any routers with an HDMI connection, or am I wrong?

Gerat question, as far as I know there is no known use for this port for the application that VZW sells the device for.

Is it possible this extender has multiple uses, maybe with FIOS?

That would be cool, although it would do me no good since out here in Astoria we dont have access to Verizon Fios.

That's what I was thinking. If the device isn't currently support Fios it may be set up to eventually.

I guess this thing is like the Airrave Sprint has. Holy crap it costs $249.99. No monthly fee, Airrave is $4.99 a month.

I'm glad I get good coverage and don't have to use stuff like that.

Ya it is expensive but I only had to pay $150, which makes it more tolerable.

So not one person has a clue? Not knowing is bugging me! I cant even imagine what the HDMI would be for. Oh, I wanted to add that one wierd thing with the extender is that when I use Google Maps, it pulls up my location as being in the Yukon Territory, near the border of Alaska!
