In order to qualify for the new every two, you have to have a month bill of aleast $79.99. I found this on the VZW page.

You must retain the same wireless handset for 24 months in order to receive the full advantages of this program. If you choose to replace your handset at a discounted price prior to completing 24 months of enrollment in the program, you will forfeit your benefits and be automatically reenrolled in the program. If you enrolled in the program on or after 11/25/02, you must take advantage of the New Every Two offer within six months of becoming eligible; otherwise, you may be charged full retail price to upgrade your current handset. Discount amount will be applied toward the two-year Customer Agreement retail price. Additional Family SharePlan lines are not eligible to participate in the program. The amount of any available mail-in rebate may apply against and reduce the amount of the New Every Two credit.

Every 20 months you get a new phone at the discounted price along with an extra $100.00 off if you have a 2 year contract or from what I have seen $50.00 if you have a 1 year contract. This is only good for your primary line if you should happen to be on a family plan.

Just to add to your statement..... I believe You get $100.00 credit on plans 79.99 and above.....$50.00 credit if you are on a monthly plan under $79.99.

This is correct. Also with the new VIP program, customers are eligible for an annual upgrade after 12 months if on a plan of $79.99 or higher and will recieve a $50 credit.

With a family plan, the primary line gets essentially the 2-year contract price minus $100 credit (if you're at $79.99/month or more), and secondary lines get the 2-year contract pricing for the phone. This kicks in as others have said, after 20 months. I'm also a VIP so I could've upgraded at 1 year for the 2-year contract pricing. Remember that if you're close with your upgrade date, negotiation is very helpful.

Therefore when I upgraded my phone and my wife's to beautiful new Curves (hers a Pinkberry), I paid $99.99 for hers and NADA for mine.

You have to be on a plan 79.99 or higher for six months with no service suspended.

Ah, ok. My old plan was 69.99, so that's why. I'm on a higher plan now, so I should be rollin the VIP status in 6 months.
