    I just bought a two month old Tour from a friend. Prior to buying I did call Verizon and had the esn checking and was told it was clear and I could put on my account. So this morning I went online to activate and said it couldn't at this time. Did the ol' *228 and it wanted to transfer me to a cs rep. Anyone know what's going on here

    A lot of the time, smart phones can't be activated online. Just call and they will do it no problem.

    OTA is because a data plan is required. You can add thru my vz and choose your data plan accordingly, then OTA opt 1 to activate.
