I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but i've never purchased a phone from verizon with a mail in rebate.

My line is a secondary line on a family share plan. The primary line is eligible for the NE2 and i'm planning to use that credit to get the Tour for my line. Now, I know the tour has a MIR and I'm wondering if it's going to affect my ability to get the rebate if i'm switching the lines for the phone? Or will it not matter as long as i'm purchasing and activating the phone on a new 1 or 2 year agreement?

It will not affect your MIR, I do it all the time with my kids. Order a phone under line A, activate it under line B and send in for the MIR. The MIR come as a credit card now, not a check. It is very easy to transfer the money from the card to your bank account with no fees.
