    Pros
Got a Tour (green dot), Pink Curve (for the wife), and dumb phone for the kid for 150.00 bucks
200 extra minutes with the plan change to 1400
Dataplan for the wife on the Curve
    Back on International status

    Cons
    Lost 2 hours of free service 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
2 lost family circle number slots
Tour has issue with the Bluetooth connection (low outgoing volume)
    20.00 more a month
Had a 8830WE from Alltel I had to give up

So far I am happy as long as this bluetooth issue on the Tour gets fixed soon. The BOGO offer was great as well as the get another phone of lesser value for free as well. The rep even got the 20.00 change fee waived as well.

I'm wondering why you gave up the Alltel plan? The con list would only have one item (tour) had you kept your plan. I'm guessing you HAD to make a plan change being that's the only reason you would have to change.

I had to as the Alltel 8830WE was no longer supported overseas. Alltel's international contracts were up from what I was told by VZW. I really did not want to but VZW sent me a letter two days ago explaining the international issue so they allowed me to upgrade without any penalties.

With regard to Bluetooth, I read this tip in another discussion on CB--set echo cancellation to on and encryption to off.

My wife and I just switched from Alltel to VZW. We saved 65.00 a month and both got two new tours for 129.00, for both. So far we love them. VERY user fiendly..

I didn't know that Alltel had a 12 number Family Circle option. I thought they were 5, 10, and 15.

    LOL......

The fix for the Tour did not work. I am just waiting for .53 to get released and it is supposed to fix it.

And you knew about the extra numbers on Alltel for customer loyalty?

At least I don't post lamely just to get my post count up. One thousand, six hundred in less than three months. You need to get a life other than on Crackberry.

I told verizon I will never change my contract to them. Its less expensive with the Alltel contract and verizon knows this. I will buy a phone and keep my Alltel contract.

I concur. I won't change unless they absolutely force me. At that point I will start shopping around.
