Uh. Don't answer the calls or texts? Or change your number.

I think you can call the carrier and block certain numbers. You can do that for calls but not sure about texts. Nothing can be done from your phone. Verizon will give you the best answer.

Vzw doesn't offer the option to block numbers. Hence, my ex boyfriend.

Sore subject with me. Got my Verizon Curve with new number in June and had tons of spam messages b4 I took phone out of the charger. COmplained to VZW and they said "You must be giving your number out to the world." They deducted the charges from my bill and I simply blocked text messages in total.

    Lol..

My best advice is simply to change your number. I don't have this luxury, as I use my berry for business. However, if this is an option for you, and the calls/txts are really bothering you, dooooooooooo it!!

It's 2008 and Verizon still doesn't have Call Blocking. I always wonder how they can put other things in as priorities, but not offer call blocking. WTF Verizon? Can you hear me now?

    Hah! Silly reply JRS.

    1. I get random calls every once in a while and I either am afraid its a friend calling from a different # OR if it is somebody unknown all together I just mess with them. If I hear them ask for "Susie" I reply with "she's at the dog groomers getting her nails done" or something silly.
I only have 450 minutes on my plan so I feel your pain! Good luck!

    2. You can turn "Premium text messaging off". Call Verizon, they should know what you're talking about. (you're... I used that right didn't I?). Hopefully that will help you out!

Yes I know the feeling. It sometimes happens when you get a new number. They recycle the numbers and re use them after a couple months of inactivity. I run into that wh contact some of my friends I haven't talked to in awhile.
But that's one good thing about Voicemail. Call screening. Texts another thing. The delete key works for ones you don't want to read.
    Dang cell phone companies
Good luck with that and happy Crackberring!

Actually Jenay, Verizon has a new plan for $4.99 a month where you can block up to 10 numbers per month. They told me about that when I changed my number yesterday.

You can get it changed free of charge since it's harassing phone calls. I've just did it yesterday myself. I told them I didn't want that new $4.99 plan per month. I already pay $108 per month, how much more blood do they want?

    Try white&blacklist paid app
    or Antair paid app
    or youmail.com free

Not sure which if any work on texts but I've read a bit about each app. They seem to be able to handle at least half your problem.

    Or try: http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...messages-9034/

This happened to me about a year ago and had to change my number which did not work. I found out that it was my username in the VZW website. I had used my first name (which is common), therefore anybody in the Verizon network who had a contact with the same name on speed dial or in their contacts, I would receive the call or text as well. It sounds crazy but I changed my username on VZW and haven't had a problem since. Unfortunately my old # which I had for years was put back into the system and lost forever. Hope this helps
