Hey guys, I just got my first BB, the 8330. Got it for 150 bucks off ebay. I'm new to smart phones, before this I had a voyager.

Any really must have apps? are any free? Any advise for a newb would be great.

What is the newest OS for this phone, can I download it from the web and transfer it to bb or have it done instore like other cell phones.

    thanks!

The best advice I can give to a noob is to use the search function on this site.
There are many threads about free apps all over the place here.
Aside from a free app I use beejive I'm.
It allows you to sign in on aol, msn, yahoo, myspace and facebook all at the same time. Not free though.
    Pandora radio
    Slacker radio
    Google maps
    Viigo
    Opera browser
    Pocket express
    Etc......
All of the above are free so look them up because they are all great apps

Welcome to CB and congratulations on the curve. I first suggest reading through the BlackBerry 101 How-To Lecture Series. Also you can find the latest OS and more by reading through the posts in the BlackBerry Curve 83xx Forum.

    My most used apps:
    BeeJive
    Live Search
    Ascendo Money
I love these three apps and use them each several times a day. Unfortunately, BeeJive and Ascendo Money cost ($30 each) but I have found them to be well worth it to me.

    Congratulations on the purchase btw

As Armak said, do some reading in the 101 lecture series. And spend time in the threads. There's a ton to learn!
