100% data...the regular AIM app is text based. I finally bought the regular version...I actually had about 25 days left on the free trial but I bought the full version cause I was so happy with it

Yes it uses data. You can go to beejive.com to learn more about the program, but its specifically states it uses your phone's data plan, its not carrier specific... all across the board.

I've been using Jivetalk for over 5 months. It works great and uses your data plan. No complaints at all.

How quick did it drain? I was signed on for at least half the day friday. Between that, couple phone calls, a lot of texting, and some picture taking, my battery had about a 25% charge left after about a 17 hour day.

I haven't noticed any battery drain and i leave it on 24/7 because I never know when my son is going to be able to check in from the Middle East...although, I do top off the battery in my cradle during the day from time to time when I'm home.

After a nine hours day of work with some talking, txting alot, about 10 emails and web browsing I'm usually at 75-80% when i walk out the door. Today with jivetalk i left with 50%. This worries me. I wonder if its just the demo thats killing the battery.

It drains battery but if you do a normal nightly charge you should be safe as a ______ (couldn't think of anything witty)

I love Jivetalk! I used to have a separate app for Yahoo and Google now I combine all of them in one app. How convenient is that.

And no, I have not noticed that it is draining my battery anymore than the usual.
