Hi all. I'm a new Curve owner after getting an upgrade from a 8700. In the process of the upgrade my company switched carriers from AT&T to Verizon. I have retained the same mobile number.

With my prior service I had been able to have contacts SMS my phone from ICQ. As soon as the switch to Verizon was made this stopped working. I know ICQ works with AOL/AIM to get their SMS messages sent. I set up an AIM account and SMS also do not work from there.

When sending to my phone I get the following error for both ICQ and AIM:

Your message could not be delivered. Please try again later.

Does anyone have any insight on what might be causing this? I've tested this out with other IM services and there are no problems with SMS messages getting to my phone.

Seems to me there is an issue with AIM being able to route messages to my device. Does it take some time before their systems recognize a carrier change for a number?

    Thanks in advance.
