I'd like John Chen to write a strongly worded blog post to Verizon concerning the lack of official update to Q10 and Z30 owners. Seems to have worked for the other issues!

I heard os 10.2.1 running. Apk files was a mistake in the OS and that was announced little after the os came out. Verizon started a roll out day before. They may have released Z10 updated first, then found os hickup and cancelled Q10 and Z30

For those wishing to try leaks, I advise against. Two bars on average using .19xx and one and half bars less on average using .21xx. Honestly, I want the .2 features more than .21, instant previews, light background, notifications, OS more optimized, and better battery life. In 90 percent of cases you can use a work around that works fine using the BlackBerry browser instead of getting an Android app, the only exception is the availability of games. Now to contribute directly about Verizon everyone agrees it's a mystery. No US carrier released anything for the Q10 or Z30 (verizon exclusive), yet. They will how many crappy android phones have you guys had in the past? The carriers do upgrade every phone up until a certain point, and we're not there yet with BB10, especially that they are still kind of being sold.

Anyone using Verizon in western MA? How's the coverage? I'm on T-Mobile now with an unlocked 100-5 and am thinking of switching seeing as I'm going to spending a month in Southampton with family this summer. T-Mobile's coverage is terrible there (Edge, if I'm lucky).

Edit: Forget it. No 4G on prepaid, plus my Q10 probably wouldn't work with Verizon anyway.

I found nothing about this post to be accurate.

I spoke to Verizon tech support today and they gave me the same run around everyone else is speaking of. Spoke to two different reps and they both were blaming blackberry and said that they had no information available for a release date for new software period. Very disappointing.

I just finished Sachesi update and it worked great! I'm so glad I didn't wait. This update is fantastic. Thank you Ragbert for the link to John Clark's instruction.

Fantastic, walkercup! Happy to help, and I'm glad you're enjoying all the new features now!

For those still waiting, don't come down on the carrier reps for not having info. They truly are told nothing during the testing process. The nice ones will tell you this, but if you harass them, they're more likely to invent a rumour just to get you off the phone. If you want to keep waiting for the official to drop, that's your choice of course. But if you use Sachesi to install the update, you'll be getting the same official version used by the carriers who have already released it. You'll love it and kick yourself for not having done it sooner. :-)

Particularly with Verizon I want to know what is the reason they canned the update roll out. I wonder what will happen if Verizon, or any other carrier, one day decides to stop approving new updates but the device manufacturer continues improving the OS.

Well, here's hoping some who are a lot smarter than me will continue offering updates via autoloader and Sachesi.

They haven't canned it. The official word is that they are still testing it, whatever that means, at this point.

I just used Sachesi to download the 10.2.1 update per the instructions above and my Q10 is working great. I also downloaded Snap and now have 3 android apps--from Google Play. All work great. Glad I didn't keep waiting for Verizon. It'll probably be next year when they finally get around to releasing the update.

I just don't want this to turn into the Z10 10.1 MR update where only one of three device has 10.2.1.

Yes. The Sachesi updates are not leaks. They are the official updates already approved and released by carriers around the world. They are non-destructive; i.e. your device is not wiped in the process of installing them.

I've always used leaks to try out the latest OS's. Never was pleased with the signal strength since it was always one and a half bars weaker on average. Also, with the 10.2.1.21xx leak the wifi bug bothered me. How is it on Sachei, and how is the network reliability, call, and text wise?

I haven't had any problems at all after updating to 10.2.1.2141 with Sachesi. I'm not sure which wifi bug you mean; if you mean wifi calling, my carrier (Verizon) never offered it anyway. Otherwise I get great signal strength with 4GLTE, calls are clear, SMS and BBM are fast, etc. The Q10 battery lasts a long time. Can't really complain about anything, especially when this version is such a huge improvement over 10.1.

Glad you got your update, wardy87. It seems to be just the US carriers who are jittery about releasing updates quickly. They spend a lot of time testing every little thing because they are the ones who have to provide support for all the changes to their customers' devices. Frustrating, yes, but now that we can manually update our own phones, not the end of the world.
