Mark it unread after you read it? What's the purpose?

    It sounds fishy too me.

This is what I am getting from OP post. "I am accessing someone's email account on my BB and I don't want that person to know that I am reading the messages."

Come on now. I have actually wanted to do this too for my hotmail account that my wife and I share. I will read some emails that I want her to read later when she checks it...so I mark them as unread. Otherwise she may delete them without review. Not everyone is a crook.

I understand that. It's just uncommon to share email account nowadays.
