I've been with Verizon Wireless and am not due for an upgrade until February. I want to switch from my current Razr to a Curve, but do not want to have to pay hundreds of dollars.

I called customer service and said I was going to switch to AT&T since their Curve is only $99. In order to have me stay, they offered me the Curve for $229 ($289 - $70 mail-in rebate).

Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can get it for cheaper (preferably without having to sign up for an additional 2 more years)? Please let me know ASAP. Thanks in advance.

$229 sounds like a fairly good deal for being in a contract still.

So you want a discount, that you aren't eligible for, and you don't want a contract renewal? Never going to happen.

What they are offering you is one yr pricing with a rebate. They implemented a lost/stolen/damage program if you don't have insurance. I am going to assume that you don't have insurance on your current phone.

They probably aren't going to charge you the upgrade charge of $20.00 as well.

thats what i was thinking. I dont understand this though.... Why would you wanna spend any money on a phone when you might be leaving anyways? if youre going to get the phone, I would just take the new 2 yr contract and get it for even cheaper?

229 is with a new 2 year contract. However it is the 1 year contract price.

You don't have an option for a 2 yr contract unless you qualify for an early upgrade. Then you get two year pricing and a rebate. You will sacrifice your new every 2 credit if you are. I believe primary lines are the only ones eligible for an early upgrade, however, you can talk to them about it. Are you the primary line on the account?

    The 2 yr price is $219.99 with a $70.00 rebate. correction....I think $289.99 is the 1 yr price with a $70.00 rebate.

$219 is a bargain. If you want to stay with Verizon anyways, just resign for another 2 years..... What's the big deal...
