    Ok. Try it and let us know how it works. I'm boarding a plane or I'd try it myself. What external GPS do you use?

    It will not work because in order to install it, you have to order the subscription.

    It will use an external GPS puck (just tried it myself), but I don't know whether it will be able to access the map and navigation data without the subscription. I would have to cancel my subscription to find out

    He's recommending another model that's cheaper. I haven't used it, but you might want to look at it.
