    So...
    Instead of drawing your post out to make it look like you were some war hero, who just conquered the evil Verizon Wireless... You should have made the post a thankful post. Thanking Verizon for going out of their way to give a stubborn customer what he didn't deserve in the first place.

    it was a new one and would have taken a refurb if they had one.
    I understood that part. I meant the phone that broke was a Tour. Wasn't the defective device a Tour as well? I assume it had to be because otherwise they went way out of their way to help you out. I doubt anyone would have approved a new Tour if your broken phone was a Pearl or Curve. That is all I meant.

    if you were say in vegas and you lived in new york and you needed your phone for work and it took a dump on you. you go to the store wanting a refurb but they did not have one. your plane leaves in a few hours . so you need to get another phone.
    Honestly, your entitled to what the manufactures warranty provides and nothing more. The warranty doesn't say that your entitled to a brand new phone if a refurbished one isn't available on demand. The wireless carriers provide warranty replacements as a courtesy for their customers. If they didn't provide this service we would have to deal directly with the manufacturer and we all know how much fun that would be.

    omg i cant belive all of the sheeple who have been bashing me. read my post and i do mean all of my replys. and look at it through my eyes. i did thank them at the store and i called back the cs rep that i talked to and said thank you. i was trying to make a point and most of you would rather bash me.
    i love verizon and will never change to another company. but i am not going to be walked on , i was in a bind and stood up for my self. is that so wrong. i needed my phone. and if you read all of my replys then you will see why.

    Some carriers don't even give the option to do a warranty replacement in store. With some carriers you need to call tech support, go through some troubleshooting, and if the problem persists, a warranty phone is shipped out to you (not even an option to pick one up in the store).

    sorry i miss understood. yep it was a tour. and i also for got to tell all of the nice people who have bashed me " not you " i was on my 25th day of my 30 days of my tour to replace it. no questons asked. why down grade.

    im a brat. wait till you are in the same bind then bend over and take what they give you. i just needed to get my phone working. is that so wrong. i think that most of you that have a problem with what i did. would have let it go missed your flight . and gotten another one when it came fedex. thats not me.
    i deal with people all over the country who are recovering addicts and i need to be by the phone 24/7. they call me when they want to use and i talk them down. if one just one of them did not get through to me when they needed me then they may go out and get high, and die. i dont need that on my head. would you?
    It has happened to me. I went through the warranty process without whining or yelling at some rep that I pay my bill every month, blah blah blah. Why do you think that your situation was so special?

    i agree i didnt have another phone with me. i have my phone on for people that need my help 24/7 and i am never away from it. if i coul have done it another way i would have.
    i sponser people who are in recovery and that is why i need my phone 24/7. if i am not around and they needed my help . then they could go get high and die. i dont need that on my head.
    Vegas to NY is a pretty long flight. What if someone needed you? You can't use your phone on the plane.

    that was a example not where i am actualy where i am flying. i send out a mass text to over 300ppl and give them another person to call. and i do use my email and im on the plane through my mac on the plane. i am never out of reach.

    Wait, you were in your first 30 days? Since you purchased it new?
    If so that changes everything...
    In that scenario you should have just gotten a new phone. The CLNR shouldn't have even been an option...

    Just the other day I was having a problem with my trackball and took it in to a VZW store. He noticed the problem and said well, we dont have any refurbs so he gave me a new one. I was perfectly content with a refurb but I ended up with a new one instead.. kinda the opposite of what happened to you.

ROC you were right. i should have worded it better. if i offended any one. then i am sorry. if you want to talk more about this them pm me. and i will reply. if you want to meet in person i will do that. i am in la in the morning. and will be there most of the day. then i am in berkley tommorrow night. then on to portland. then back home. i will be in nyc , boston, new york, and vermont in oct. in no way is this to be taken as a threat. i think people hide behind blogs. and they are really not bashers, liars or whatever you may call someone. i love this blog and spend a lot of time learning here. all i have done was defend myself.

    If they didn't have a refurb and you were desperate for a phone, a decent businessman would have paid for the new phone then dealt with it at tax time. What you did was the same thing people do in retail. You make a nuisance of yourself until the stores manager has 2 opitions...call the cops, have them outside his store as you create a scene, fill out all the paperwork to have you trespassed, all the while he's losing money because other customers are scared off. OR He can just give the baby what he wants and take the loss then pass it on to the next guy with a ligitimate problem.

    This world is so overrun with people who have an overinflated sense of entitlement. I pay my bill so I deserve special treatment. Disgraceful.

    why do you doubt it. this has happed to me over 3 times over the last 6yrs. and i usually take a refurb. but they did not have one.

    Because the policy says that you mail out phones if the store is out of stock..

    Agreed, or the ones who are like "I found your wallet , so now I want a reward"... Everyone wants something for doing what a human is supposed to do.
