I am on a family share plan with my husband. We both have blackberrys. I get a feature discount of 20%. Does this apply to both data plans or just the data plan on the primary line?

i called customer service and was told that feature discounts only apply to plans over 39.99 and since the second line is only 9.99 that it didn't apply. I was told in store that it applied to both lines. The confusing part is that the portion of the data plan for the second line that was prorated had the discount applied. we switched mid cycle. The data plan for the upcoming cycle did not have the discount applied.

Some ELEU profiles do have feature discounts. The best way to find this out would be to look at your bill. Is the 20% on each of the data plans? It all depends on the contract that your company negotiates with Verizon Wireless. Every company is different.

Generally though access (not feature) discounts only apply to lines $34.99 & higher (which means not on secondary lines)

The answer is yes and no. We got our blackberrys mid cycle. On our bill we have the prorated portion of the data plan for the remainder of the cycle we were in plus the data plan for the upcoming cycle. On the primary line the feature discount is on both the prorated portion and upcoming cycle. On the secondary line, the discount is only on the prorated portion. This is why I asked the question. The bill left it open to go either way.

I may contact our Verizon rep for work and see what is in the contract. thanks.

Just call CS, they can look at the details of the negotiated contract you have.

I would definitely check with CS, I have a 20% discount on features and I have it on my primary line along with my wife's line. The only things on her line is the line, data plan, 500 txt message package and insurance. She does not get the access discount but her line does receive the feature discount. As other people have stated it may not be for lines under a certain amount and the total for my wife's plan is $49.97.

    Current Calling Plan Add'l Line 05/05 - 06/04 9.99
    Current Data Plan 05/05 - 06/04 29.99
    20% - Feature Discount 05/05 - 06/04 -6.00
    TEC Insurance - Asurion 05/05 - 06/04 5.99
    500 MSG Allowance + Unl IN MSG - 05/05 - 06/04 10.00

Depends on what your employer has set up. Access discounts are for lines 39.99 and up so you would not get a discount on your 9.99 secondary line access fee.. Feature discounts are set up for features/add-on 24.99 and up so any line with a data plan would/should get a discount off that feature.

my sister and i have a family plan and we both have blackberry data plans. i'm pretty sure we get discounts on the the primary voice line and both data plans. but it could be based on what your employer has set up with them

My husband and I have 2 BlackBerrys on a Verizon family plan. I get a 20% discount on everything on my account except for his 9.99 charge.

We have a pretty big plan. 1400 shared minutes with unlimited text and 2 unlimited data plans. All of these things are discounted.

Secondary 9.99 lines are not supposed to get discounts on data features.

This is true. The billing system still allows it though.

the simple answer is "it depends on the terms of the contract between your employer and VZW"....

if you want more of a discount, or to have it to apply to more things anyway, contact your employer's feedback process and suggest that they re-negotiate the terms of the contract next time it comes up.
