Unfortunately it is not a BB. reliability goes out the window. LG phones suck. Just my two cents.

Sister has it, its not too bad. Just a simple touch screen really meant for texting teens in my opinion.

It's a phone. Text, voice, and if you have to mobile web. If you don't need E-mail or a ton of apps from App World in BlackBerries then you'll be fine. There are games on that phone that I heard aren't too bad, as well as Social Networking.
Overall; perfect for a social teenager who really loves to do texting and things such as facebook and myspace, even an adult who enjoys this too would work for them.

-Just watch for charges if you don't have the right package for what you plan on using it for

I, too, think it odd that someone would post a question on CB asking what we thought of an env2. I just think that any feedback would be so biased it would be deemed untrustworthy.

that stated -- my wife has one and LOVES it. She's a stay at home mom and does ZERO web browsing. uses it like a teeange girl - talk, text, pics. the camera is great, has memory card slot. the touchscreen is awesome. I had a storm and hated it (returned after one day, I know, I know... give it a chance.. whatever) However, the touch screen on the env2 is great -- she's faster on that thing the I am on my berry.

It looks great, but NEEDS a screen protector and hard, snap-on case. very easily damaged if dropped, bumped, etc.

All around -- if you want a great PHONE, go for it. if you want a SMART phone -- then, get a smart phone. (hint, the env2 is NOT a smart phone in my opinion)

** edit** had to add: I stated that my wife "uses it like a teenage girl". I thought about that. What am I saying? My girl is 5 years old and I'm a 36 year old guy. What do I know about teenage girls? So, let me ammend that -- it works great for a mid thirties, stay-at-home Mother of a 5 year old girl and 2 year old boy who texts and talks, takes pics, and doesn't use any web broswer or PDA functionality.

If you like the touchscreen and you get the data package or Connect/Premium plan, you won't go wrong with it.

LG phones are more reliable & have a lower return rate than BlackBerry - even if you take the Storm out of the equation.

There are things the enV can do that BlackBerry cannot & the overall satisfaction rate is better than BlackBerry.

You get more phone & more services for less money with a device that can download a library of applications.

Check out the reviews on the VZW site - glowing, really. And you know LG will be around in five years. Analysts aren't so sure the same can be said for RIM.

I had a LG Voyager for the past two years before converting to a BlackBerry, and the two phones are pretty similar so I'll chime in here.

The touchscreen on the Voyager was somewhat iffy, and testing out the enV touch at the VZW store it seems the screen responded the same way, even after calibration. Not the greatest touchscreen technology out there but it's decent.

However, if you're a messaging fanatic (email doesn't apply in this situation), you'll love this phone. I loved the SMS and MMS features on the phone. The keyboard is quite spacious and has good feedback. The screen is decent enough to see what you need.

As far as the browser goes, it's okay. Not the greatest, but it gets the job done after an extended waiting time.

This phone is great for what it does, messaging and voice plans. But don't expect anything else out of this phone except for that.

    Good luck!

I don't know what my wife sees in her env touch but she just loves it. She coming up on her 30 days and I keep asking if she still likes it hoping she will want a Tour like mine. 22 years and I still can't figure her out.

crap -- 22 years and you can't figure 'em out? that sucks, I thought it was gonna get easier. oh well, I'm 15 in and she confounds me. I guess the partial verdict is: "chick phone" - except for the guy from hawaii.

If I didn't have a "need" all the things that a BB has to offer, my second choice for a phone would be the EnV series.

I had an orange one for over a year, beat the **** out of the thing. Even chucked it as hard as I could into a wall [rare emotional outburst] with only a small dent on the side. The thing was tuff.

Had my sisters enV2 while waiting for my contact to expire so I get could the 8330 and loved it just as much as my orange enV.

The battery life and durability was awesome on both of the phones and I would expect it to be the same on the touch. Oh and the camera's were both way better then what I currently have on my 8330 to, I would take pictures all the time with em. I say anyone who does a lot of txting but doesn't need a smartphone wouldn't go wrong with it.

eyy, regarding that chick phone comment. at least it's in black and a decent pro looking color. not to mention it's easier for them "chicks" to put their numbers in.

Agreed. The reason why I switched to a BB was graduating from college and entering the workforce. The Voyager couldn't provide me with the push email I needed, so I jumped to a BB.

And also agreed on the toughness of that type of phone. Mine got beat up pretty badly after two years of use. Unfortunately I'm prone to dropping my phones, and the Body Glove case on there was well worth the $12 I paid for it.

Pic quality is okay. Nothing special.

It's a great messaging phone, for anyone who utilizes SMS and MMS a lot. Male or female

This is the Verizon Forum, therfore people ask questions regarding Verizon. Theres iphone and other smartphone sections on here.
If you need a txting phone I would get that one. Motorola's are garbage and Samsung's are ok. I agree I used to love my old LG till i found my BB

hmm well it is a decent teen phone.I look at the ENV series of phones as a decent down grade from a smart phone. I had a Voyager before I switched to a BB and personally I am never turning back. (the ENV touch is considered the Voyager2)

My parents just bought enVTouches, and they really like them. I played with them tonight and was really impressed. The accelerometer was quick and responsive, as was the touch screen. The touch screen was a breeze to type on. I couldn't believe the graphics for the preloaded sample games (Resident Evil: Degeneration & Need for Speed). The only thing I didn't like was the OS, oh and the fact its not a Blackberry. Pretty sweet phone though.

The EnV line overall is great; and agreeing with Twins ( don't faint ) is very reliable. My daughter, folks, and bf all have EnV 2 and plan on getting 3 or touch because they like it so much. LGs in general are all I've had prior to blackberrys.
Cosmetically IMO though the versa; voyager and env touch could be the same phone. They look so similar I wouldn't be able to tell the diff at a glance. Probobly diff software platforms and features though.

No, but it couldve been. I could see a supporter of the ACLU trying to run a nation using the anonymity of a BlackBerry.
