    Hello,
I have an 8130 on VZW. I'm going to New Zealand for 2 weeks this month and I would like to still be able to access my contacts/calendar on my phone, without paying the outragous fees for sending and receiving calls/emails/texts/etc. If I go to 'Manage Connections' and turn 'off' all connections, will this allow me to do that?
    Thanks!

You can also go into Mobile Network Options and set Data Services to "Off When Roaming". I use that for when I'm driving through Canada.

If you turn the radio completely off you wont have to worry about connecting to any kind of data network. Thats your best bet.

Mobile network options>turn off all connections. That way everything is turned and you have to worry about your phone trying to connect to anything

Yes that will allow it. 8130 can't use global anyway.
