An oak tree is capable of wifi if you put a radio in it but you must have the radio to do it.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com
in a back and forth about wifi in the past, too many loyalist defended Verizon and have said wifi will not work with CDMA because of technical limitations. Some also said it won't fit in the phone because CDMA radios are too large, requiring a modification of the entire casing of the phone which would cost too much for RIM to make varying size CDMA devices for each carrier, hense why all CDMA carriers didn't have wifi.

Since both those scenarios have been debunked, this is whats left.... several CDMA 9630 test devices with wifi and a confirmed storm 2 with wifi. 9630 close to being officially confirmed for late July and a little later on for storm 2, hopefully before the year's end

We can debate wether or not these devices will or will not have WI-FI. The truth will be know when they are released and not before. We are all wasting typing and breaths on this

Hey I agree with you, who cares if you don't want a data plan??

Oh, just write to Congress and President Obama, they're getting their hands into everything these days...maybe they will decide to help with their "regulations" and "socialism that isn't socialism!"

What's wrong with some socialism? I like my socialized police, fire protection and mail.

Cause the USPS is doing so well.

The problem with socialism is at some point you run out of other peoples money.

bb plan is a must. although i have heard rumors of people activating bb's without bb plans. I find this to be untrue but worth sharing i guess.

Heh. Well if you want to let a cell phone company tell you what to buy and how to use it, that's fine with me, there's a sucker born every minute. I have no problem going over to another company where they'll let me use it the way I want to. Thanks for the help.

Yep, I'm planning on switching over to T-mobile.

Good luck! and they may require a data plan with a smart phone also.

I want a carrier that respects my right as a consumer to use the phone I want to use how I want to use it. I can buy the phone myself if necessary, I don't need to buy it through them. I need to USE it through them, however.

Again. I want a phone that is:
    - Not a touch phone
    - Not a flip phone or a slider phone
    - Has a QWERTY keyboard so I can take down Calendar notes, send text messages, has a speaker phone...so on and so forth.
    - Isn't ugly or bulky as ****

There's not a lot of choices out there.

If they require I pay an additional $30 a month to use the phone I want to use then who needs them? They're just another carrier, they have no loyalty to me, I have none to them.
Get a home phone. you don't need a Berry, and it would feel neglected through ownership by you.
