I have a curve through verizon. Currently I am paying $44.99/month for data. I get my work email forwarded but not through a BES. I do it the same as my Gmail. Set up the account on the curve to be forwarded. Do I need the $44.99 plan just because its a work email like they told me at the verizon store or can I go to the $29.99 plan we have on my wifes BB? If I can save $15/month it would be great.

Yes the BIS 30 dollar plan should work for you. You just need BES if your work has a BES server.

Sounds like to me you only need the BIS 29.99 plan. Like previously stated, unless your company uses a BES server and you are receiving the mail directly on your BB, the 29.99 plan will work for you. Plus you should check to see if the company you work for has any discounts through VZW. Your company discount will also apply to the data plan. My company gets a 19% discount, so the data package works out to be 24.29 a month.

You do realize that the corp. discount doesn't apply to the data plan. Only to the voice plan, not the bb data plans.

Corporate discounts do work on data plan as well. I am looking right now at my bill and my $29.99 data charge receives a %20 feature discount bringing my data charge to $23.99.

Corp discount does work for data plan for sure. Shows right on my bill too.

Well im glad then b/c when I try to add that to my plan on the verizon site it still has it priced as 29.99. That might help me convince my wife to finally let me get a BB.

What percentage do you get off of your bill? All the discounts are based on how many lines your company has with VZW. If they do not have enough lines then you may only get a discount on your voice plan and not your data as well. My dad for example, his company only receives a 6% monthly discount on his voice plan because he works for a smaller company that has less than 100 lines. He receives no discount on the data plan because of this.

There are a lot of profiles for that company. The profile I looked at "TRINITY HEALTH: TRINITY HEALTH- EMP" says you get a 20% discount on voice, which you knew. This is directly from the profile I am reading "20% DATA DISCOUNT ON ALL DATA FEATURES $29.99 OR HIGHER COMBINED WITH A VOICE PLAN OF $34.99 OR HIGHER ." So as long as I am looking at the correct profile then it looks like you should get the 20% on the data as well. Might be worth calling your local store just to double check.

$30 plan is for theBlackberry Internet Service (BIS) or personal email and $45 is need for the corporate features used for Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES).

I'm sorry. I didn't answer your question correctly. I answered a similar question in a different thread that had slightly different circumstances.

    1. BBM is included with the data plans.
    2. Txting does not come with the data plan. It is separate from the data plans.

Again I am sorry for any confusion. Let me know if I can help more.

Sorry, but with Verizon, the answer is no. They require a data plan with all of their BB devices.

You are correct. You would still have to pay for the texting separate from the data plan.
