I caved today and ordered a Z30 for $99 and gave up my unlimited data. The only reason I did this is because they told me about this new "max" plan where you can get 6gb data for $30. And I don't need more than 6, and I am already paying $30 for unlimited...so I figure this is alright. Just wanted to share in case this might help someone. I have a feeling they don't mention this to customers freely as they are really trying to sell the "share everything" plan.

    I don't think I'd call that "caving in". It's a choice.

BTW, hope you love the Z30 as much as I do.

Hum, wonder if I call them, only 2 months in, if they would put me on that.

haha...I only said "caved" because I was really trying to not get anything new right now.

And as far as being 2 months in...I think this is a plan for people on the unlimited plan who don't want to budge like I was

This is a well known option for individuals who want to upgrade at a discounted rate and currently have unlimited data.

I don't recommend doing it. Keep unlimited forever. Your data usage will only increase with time. For example, I used less than 500MB on my 9930. Then I used less than 3GB on my Z10. Now I use around 6-10GB on my Z30.

Giving up unlimited data would cause me to pay more and be more stressed worrying about overage charges.

You should reverse that upgrade and either buy it outright new or buy one used or use the unlimited data upgrade loophole. It involves transferring your upgrade to another line on your family plan. Android Central has more info about it. I did it in December and it worked fine.

You have to get at pos. Stupid, but unless you can find someone with some juice they won't be able to put you on the plan. Usually reps won't put you on it unless you know to ask for it. I think I was the only one who would actually do it automatically at my store
