Bought my curve 6 days ago for 149, called up CS to ask about a 50 dollar credit and they said since I bought the phone in a corporate store, I just need to go back with my receipt and they'll credit me the $50. Love it!

I came from ATT....I LOVE the coverage!! No more dropped calls!!!!! Yesssss

    First off welcome to CB.

How much did you pay for the phone whe you got it? It is better either to take receipt to a store, or call CS. do not email agaon since this did not work the first time.
I think you are right - I will call CS tomorrow and try again - I got my phone for $219 minus the $50 renew credit, so $169 with $70 rebate - $99. Their reply email said well you got it for $99, but it is now $169 with same rebate and with credit, I would get it for $49, so I got to argue that a little more.

Either way, I love the phone and both prices are good

ya,, it was 100. it was just 149.99 when i was buying the curve yesterday. Now its just 99.99
Damn I paid 49.99 with my new every 2 upgrade on July 30th, and August 1st if I had waited it would have been free? I am giving customer service a call.

WHEW! Took the suggestion to call CS rather than email, but a very patient representative spent 18 minutes on the phone with me and it took her that long, but she finally understood what I was saying and she gave me the $50 credit!

Now I am dancing with joy - I got my Blackberry Curve for $49!!!

I do love Verizon - they have excellent customer service representatives!

Customer service also did confirm about august price drops being temporary due to heavy back to school/campus volume and competiton with other companies dropping new phones aug/sept.

Have you had the phone less tha 30 days? if so, call back or go into a store with receipt and they will take care of it.

Yeah, I purchased the phone on July 12th. I think I'll just head to the store. The CS rep said I coulf exchange for a different phone with the WFG but not get the Curve for less. She was kind of rude too.

if you had it less than 30 days you could always return it and then repurchase it if they dont want to credit your account the difference

Call and ask for the supv. When I called, it did take the rep a few "tries" to understand the difference between the $99.99 final price I paid, and the new $99.99 before new-every-two price listed before. "I see you already paid 99.99." I had to explain that was after the additional 50$ discount, and the new listing of 99.99 is before it.

I bought 2 phones over the past week or so, and I just got a $100 credit to my account.

I'm really liking this place! I'd have never known about this if I hadn't been reading here!

I had a hard time getting them to understand that point also, but she finally did. I was patient and told her I appreciated her taking the time to understand it. So you might try again -

yea, speaking as cust service rep for VZW if you're within the 30 days of purchase and the price does drop, you can call in or take it to the local corporate retail store and they'll adjust the price.

dunno why that other rep told him we couldnt do it >_>

I'm going to be buying my 1st BB on August 16th (Hopefully)!! It's going to be the Curve.

Now my question is if the price dropped to 99$ for an upgrade, did the retail price drop as well? And if so, what is the new retail?

As far as I understand, the [cough] "retail" (emphasis on the quotation marks there) price is still $429.99. (If you're asking about the tax-charging-price). The new 2-year contract price is $169.99, -$70 online discount = $99.99. Then if you have a new every year, it is another -$50, for $49.99. The tax amount for me was still $33.32, so they're sticking to the 429.99 "retail" price.
