I bought my phone (Curve 9330) in October of 2011, so it's a few months old. The trackpad is already having some issues like scrolling by itself. Would Verizon replace it or no? I didn't take up any extended warranty.

They will charge you for swapping out for a refurbished device. I know a dumb phone was $50 I don't know what a smart phone would be.

If you got it in Oct 2011, you're still in warranty. They wouldn't replace it with a Certified like New. And there's no charge, so unless F2 is privy to something we don't know, there's no charge.

The only problem is it sometimes has no problems what so ever. So they might test my device when it has no problems and charge me the full price for the refurbished device. -_-
